SUCCESSES FROM OUR GRADUATES

Hi Friends

Recently, we had a Christmas Party at George's house from Swish 10 and Master Swish 01 a few days back with some graduates bringing their children and spouse along. It's really a good start for all of us to gather and I am looking forward towards another one organise by our graduates. Friendship is something money can't buy and I am glad to be in this journey with all of them.

Let me share with you the successes that some of the graduates have achieved (based on my knowledge):
1) Caleb (Master Swish 01) - found his emotion again and regain confidence in building relationship with people. In addition, he is attached now. Wow!
2) Danny (Master Swish 01) - taken giant steps, phobia replaced by confidence and he opened new markets in Bangkok and KL
3) Endang (Master Swish 01) - her 1st training in Jakarta has been confirmed in Jan 2010. I will be joining her in Jakarta. Looking forward.
4) Joshua (Master Swish 01) - continued his Toastmasters journey and taken various steps moving towards being a CIO (Chief Information Officer)
5) Serene (Master Swish 01) - left her job and brought forward her 10-year goal to now
6) Cassandra (Swish 10) - 1st graduate in the class to quit her job and reached her goal to become an Executive Secretary
7) Keith (Swish 10) - gained 4 kg. More muscular looking now.
8) Sean (Swish 10) - became my business partner and both of us founded Value Investing Academy. One of my goal is to create a programme that can create multiple sources of income and I am glad we are movinbg forward
9) Michael (Swish 09) - achieved his goal recently by completing his 21km run in Standard Chartered Marathon

I am already looking forward towards year 2010 as it will be another exciting year. It does not matter whether what the outside world is. It only matters what your inner world is.

This afternoon, I went to this place at Macpherson Road called FightWorks Asia aiming to train up my physique in a fun way. While I walked out of their office, I saw a black & white painting of Bruce Lee and a quote beside him that states “Knowing is not enough, you must apply; willing is not enough, you must do.” A quote for you!

Cheers!

INSPIRATION AROUND US

Hi Friends

I have just completed another of my "Secrets of Creating the Results that You Want" Workshop on 4/12/09. The energy was high in the room and it ended with a high note. What inspire was a young participant who came was hearing impaired. In other words, he hears with a hearing aid and will have problem listening to me. However, he was lip-reading throughout the whole session and that was what has inspired me. That is called 'Determination'.

Cheers!

I know you must thinking about ghosts or some spooky stuffs. No, no that. She sees sound. Oh! She must be crazy. ...How can she possibly sees sound and how does it help her?

In NLP, this is called Synaesthesia and we call people with such ability Synaesthetes. Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1R_A4tUMOtI&feature=related.

Hi Friends

Great to know that you are reading my Blog. Had a great time meeting 2 old high school friends whom I have not seen for the past 20 years at Orchard Central. At the same time, coincidentally witnessed an opening of a shop which sells premium chocolate and they have invited a popular Taiwanese Singer called "Tao Zhe" as an ambassador which was located just adjacent to where we were sitting (Coffee Bean). Also bought a box of premium chocolate cookies for my friend's son. My friend was so happy that when he got back home, his 3-year old son called me over my mobile and said 'Uncle Kheng Mong. Thank you!'. Wow! That's really a good value that my friend has passed to his son. Parents are always doing their very best for their children.

When I finally settled down and read my emails, I will always received emails from my current or past trainees sharing with me their challenges. I am happy that they shared which means that they trusted me to help them. There was one of this trainee who was concerned that his mum wants him to be like his mum, but he doesn't want to live life like his mum. As usual, I answered his questions with more questions because he already have the answers. You just need to help him ask the right questions. At the same time, I send him a link to a song sang by Connie Talbot called "You raise me up" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RymC-Uu6qo).

It's difficult to appreciate what our parents do until we become parents ouselves. Many years ago, when my mum was suffering from terminal stage lung cancer (my dad has already passed away), at the same time, we were also involved in a lawsuit over the ownership of the house that I have been staying for years. There was this one day where I sat down beside my sickly mum who was weeping, and I told her to wait for me to graduate from university, so that I could buy a small HDB flat, even it's just a 1-room flat, such that we can stay happily together and be away from all these troubles. That day did not come. She witnessed my convocation but I never got a chance to fulfil my promise as she passed away shortly. I still dreamt that one day, she will come back such that I can fulfil my promise to her knowing that that day will never come.

Ask yourself this question, 'how will you want to treat your parents such that if one day, they are no longer around, you will feel that you have fulfilled your role as their children?'

Now, I am a proud father of a 21-month old girl who is sleeping soundly in her bedroom right now. If my mum were to be around, she would be proud of me too.
